While most of you should know Im planning to switch my major to accountancy in NTU, few knows the actual reason why so. There are several reasons why I do so, first of which I realized my prospects are limited in Science. To excel in this field, one would have to be the crème de la crème, otherwise you would suffer the common fate: teaching. And I was too naive to believe I would be one of the few. But at least I gave myself a opportunity to experience how science at the university level is like and I have no regrets regarding that, other than the fact I have wasted a precious year.Second I thought that my interest in Chemistry was sufficient to fuel the passion to pursue a degree in it but it was extinguished as time passes. As mentioned above, it is totally different from what is taught at JC. The scope is wider and I hate most of all lab sessions which take up to 3 hours and 7 hours for the second year. Yes, I love chemistry but that was in the past and I dont want to deceive myself and clinged on just because I 'love' chemistry. Third because I took financial accounting this sem and it somehow piqued my interest in it. I should have applied for accountancy 2 years ago but the obstinate part of me then insisted I should go only for pharmacy, a decision which I regret now. Although the working hours would be dreadfully long, at least the prospects would definitely be better. It was a tough decision. And of course I would like to thank 'you' for giving me precious advice and giving me your support! |
