I was thinking about the modules Im taking this semester during a boring lecture this morning and it dawned on me I had screwed up my bidding big time. Why? First, I only managed to successfully bid for 4 modules, when the recommended is 5, and what more Im doing double majors. This would mean I have to study during special term or take 6 modules in semester 2 to compensate. Second, I should have dumped all my remaining programme points (597) to bid for freshman seminar when it is still protected and do business modules only in the second semester. Its one of the hot favourite module since there's no final exams and it counts towards fulfilling faculty requirement. Bids in the subsequent semesters would go sky high. Not to mention I failed my bids for business modules as well. Third, when round 2A ended I only had 3 modules. I panicked and bidded for GEK 1509, Introduction to Nanoworld. Little did I know the lecturer has no prior experience in teaching this module, and he has apparent speech difficulties which I had to take time to understand what he was talking about. Worse, I have to do a term paper(project) about 25-35 pages long. I have no idea how Im going to complete this assignment when I already have trouble writing 2 pages of essay in JC. My first semester is in a mess. What a great way to start university. |
