Leaving for the inaugural sun down marathon in about 30 minutes time.

Everyone wish me good luck! Im going to do this alone!

Collected my race pack for the sun down marathon a couple of days ago.

The race pack for the standard chartered marathon pales in comparison with its ambiguous pairing of the colours green and blue, unlike the unique design of the sundown's.

The design of the new adizero running top beats the standard chartered one hands down. They even personalise my race tag! A pity the running top is a size too small for me and the fabric is so thin it didnt provide adequate cover for my.. ahem.. nipples.

They even provide TCM services after the race!

My energy source during the race which cost a hefty 12 bucks for 5.

Just returned from a gathering with a friend who went Purdue University to further his studies in 2004. The inevitable topic was of course national service which never fails to rear its ugly self in any gathering involving guys. We shared with him our 'interesting' experiences and I never did imagine the outrageous manoeuvres and tactics displayed by 1st guards during their ATEC. I certainly had a good laugh. However, no matter what they did would be overshadowed by the abyssal result produced by my battalion and it would be the topic for years to come.

And once again Im deeply troubled by my choice in subject when they discussed the question of 'what are you doing in university'. I always wanted to study pharmacy, my determination evident in the choice I took in JC : Chem, Bio and Maths. No physics, partly because my physics teacher in secondary intimidated me, and I always thought it was a complex subject. It was a decision I soon regret. I aced the sujects I took but it wasnt sufficient to warrant a position in pharmacy. Damn! I put all my eggs in a basket and it was too late for remorse. I couldnt turn to chem engineering because I didnt take physics. I dont know what are the prospects of a chem degree holder. Luqi can set up a TCM hall, chee's doing chem engineering, randeep doing law in ANU. Maybe I'll end up teaching chemistry in some school.

Anyway Mother's day on sunday. Any gift ideas?

Just completed my first ever night run, if I exclude the one in full battle order with bullet proof vest. It was a vast difference from the usual runs I have. The most significant distinction was cool refuge offered in the night from the overbearing heat irridated by the malevolent sun. The disadvantage was, of course breathing in the exhaust fumes emitted. Nevertheless, it was definitely rejuvenating, considering this is the first run I had in ages. I have to intensify my training, since my training period has been rudely interrupted by my work, which reminds me to share with you people the cheap ploy devised by the manager to lure me into an extension of my contract.

Despite me making clear from 1 month ago my contract would end on the 30th April, the supervisor tried to act blur. She kept insisting I didnt inform her in due time and so she didnt employ new part time workers. So in order to remedy the problem, she gave me the option to extend 1 more month and once the new workers were recruited, I could leave. A pile of bullshit I would say. They wouldnt need to source for new workers if I stay isnt it?

Anyway Im glad its all over. Basketball in school tomorrow! =D

This is why I like basketball so much:

"Killer crossover", the move which was abused so much it was banned from NBA. Being tall doesnt save you from this move. Yao Ming is the perfect example. It also gives a whole new definition to 'diving'
